Wild Common Espadín and Still Strength Blanco Showcase at 96 and 93 Points Respectively at the 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition
Wild Common Mezcal Espadín earned an exceptional 96 point rating and was awarded a Double Gold medal at the 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Our Still Strength Tequila Blanco also ranked in the 90+ category with a solid 93 point rating from the judges and brought home a Gold medal.
While our Tequilas often garner recognition from trusted tasting panels and consumers alike, we were proud to see the Mezcal Espadín earn this recognition as it is a favorite of ours internally, but is a treasure bottle from our collection with smaller, choice distribution. Maestro Mezcalero Isidro Damián, based in Sola de Vega, Oaxaca, distills this Ancestral Esapdín in a clay pot still that results in a dark, rich, and silky profile with warm flavors of cacao, tobacco, leather, and the signature clay.
The Wild Common Still Strength Blanco has always been a star (we think they all are, to be clear!) and source of pride in our portfolio so the 93 point rating came as no surprise. The Rosales family of El Cascahuin Distillery who we work with to create our Tequilas, distills this masterpiece right to proof at 50% ABV, allowing the bright citrus, cinnamon, and anise notes to lead the profile while still being backed by the velvety mouthfeel Wild Common is known for.
