Wild Common featured in Forbes' Still Strength Tequilas to Try Now
We are stoked to announce that, earlier this month, Forbes included Wild Common's Still Strength Tequila Blanco on its list of "7 Great Still-Strength Tequilas To Try Now." Our Still Strength Blanco is one of our favorite spirits and we could not be more excited to see it featured alongside so many amazing Tequila brands and in a list of sprits we'd happily drink and enjoy.
By law, Tequilas must be distilled and bottled to a specific proof point. In the United States, Tequilas have to have a minimum of 40% alcohol by volume(ABV), and most Tequilas on the market hover around this minimum ABV threshold. However, some Tequilas are even stronger. Known as “still strength” Tequilas, these spirits have a higher alcohol content, often ranging from 46% to 55% ABV.
Our Tequila Blanco - Still Strength boasts 50% ABV, up 8% from our original Tequila Blanco. By design, this higher ABV offers a richer, purer agave flavor. Wild Common founder, Andy Bardon, and master distiller Salvador "Chava" Rosales hatched the idea for this Still Strength Blanco with agave purists in mind. Andy and Chava hold themselves and their spirits to the highest of standards and so the two mapped out how they could extract the most flavor possible out of roller mill and tahona agave extraction along with fermentation in concrete tanks with fibers and in stainless steel tanks without fibers. This blend of modern and traditional production techniques holds our Tequila Blanco - Still Strength to the highest standards.
It’s also all about standout flavor. The additional 8% ABV in our Still Strength Blanco over our flagship Tequila Blanco (at 42% ABV) and other traditional Tequilas on the market, cranks up the aromas and flavors we love, creating a richer, fuller flavor experience. Bold agave complements tones of citrus, cinnamon, and anise, providing a rich and velvety mouthful and making this a favorite among agave traditionalists.
The quality and complexity of our Still Strength Blanco makes it a sipper, but due to the higher proof it also works really well in cocktails where it can stand up to bitter and sweet ingredients nicely. Several of our favorite bars, including famed Dallas agave bar Las Almas Rotas in Dallas, use our Still Strength Blanco to make cocktails like the Muy Premium Margarita and it's a go-to spirit for special occasions.
