Aprés Mountain Bike Season in Bellingham, WA
At its core, Wild Common is about bringing people together and sharing in the adventure. So, when three friends pitched us the idea of using our Tequila Blanco to make a Ranch Waters cocktail after a long day of riding, we were stoked.
Brooklyn Bell, Sophia Rouches, and Anne Cleary are all uniquely adventurous spirits. Brooklyn is a mountain biker, skier, and artist. She spends summers ripping trails and winters skiing pillow lines. She channels her inspiration from nature into her illustrations, pushing the boundaries of how we relate to athletes.
Sophia is a mountain biker, skier, and business owner. She owns a campervan named “The Falcon” and travels the world riding bikes and skiing powder.
Anne is an independent director & producer. Notably she was the first female director at Crankworx and directed, filmed, and produced more than sixty short films. As a powerhouse trio, these three women are each inspiring in their own right, on and off the bike and in front and behind the lens.
In September, Brooklyn, Sophia, and Anne converged in Bellingham, WA to share a day of riding. Bellingham boasts world class mountain biking. With single track trails winding through mossy, evergreen forests and stunning views of the San Juan Islands, it’s hard to beat Bellingham’s well-crafted flow trails. After a day spent exploring trails and shooting photos, Sophia, Brooklyn, and Anne reconvened at Brooklyn’s house to make their aprés Ranch Waters.
The Ranch Water is a simple and refreshing cocktail that can be made with Wild Common Tequila or Mezcal, depending on your preferred flavor. The effervescence of the sparkling water combines with the rich agave flavors of the Wild Common spirits, making this one of our favorite cocktails for hot summer evenings. See Brooklyn, Sophia, and Anne’s Ranch Waters recipe here:
- Ingredients
- 2 oz Wild Common Tequila Blanco.
- 1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice.
- Sparkling water such as Topo Chico, Mineragua or similar.
- Lime wedge for garnish.
- Preparation
- Fill a Collins or other tall glass with ice to the brim.
- Add tequila and lime juice.
- Top remaining with sparkling water. Gently stir to combine.
- Garnish with lime wedge and enjoy!
As Brooklyn, Anne, and Sophia know, the Ranch Water is the perfect cocktail to sip on after a long day of summer riding as the sun sinks below the horizon. We’re unbelievably stoked to be a part of this trio’s aprés. Thanks for bringing us on the journey @badgal_brooky @sophiarou and @annethene.
